Local, Urban & Rural Development

This programme is designed to bring about economic and social development of local areas and to enable communities to become centrally involved in that development.

The Local Development Programme has £348 million available to it for the period 1994-1999.

The Programme puts in place structures which promote enterprise, target disadvantaged areas and communities and regenerate the surroundings in our cities, towns and villages. The Operational Programme consists of three sub-programmes and an initiative as follows:
