Part 2. Articles 34, 35, 36 and 37 of General Regulation deal with the monitoring of the CSF. Monitoring of Structural Funds expenditure is undertaken by Monitoring Committees. In the 2000-2006 period, in keeping with the integrated approach to implementation of the NDP and CSF, the Monitoring Committees will also monitor NDP expenditure which is not EU cofinanced.

The principles of sustainable development and equal opportunity between men and women, were integrated into the SWOT analysis conducted under the National Development Plan and further elaborated in the drafting of the Operational Programmes and Programme Complements.

The Cohesion Fund 2004Adobe PDF format document
Ireland is the first graduate from the Cohesion Fund, having exceeded the eligibility threshold at the 2003 mid-term review. In the eleven years in which we were eligible for the Funds our economy has more than doubled in size, with average annual GDP growing by 8% per annum in that period. There are many factors which underpinned that performance and the Cohesion Fund played a part.
